This painting is part of a series inspired by the beautiful sakura, or cherry blossoms, found throughout Japan in the spring. On a trip to Japan a few years ago, they were everywhere, lining the rivers, streets, and paths.

One day, after wandering around Tokyo for hours, we took a nap under the sakura in a park. The light filtering through them was lovely and delicate. This painting reminds me of the stillness and beauty of that moment.

Finished with a satin varnish for archival, UV protection. Signed on the back. Framed in a 1.5” deep raw maple float frame, wired and ready to hang.
