Inspiration:

In this ethereal piece from my Japan-inspired series, I tried to capture the spirit of hanami – the Japanese tradition of gathering under cherry blossoms to celebrate their fleeting beauty.

Vintage book pages, hand-painted rice paper, delicate charcoal marks, and soft pops of color float across a neutral background, evoking that dreamy, transient feeling of petals drifting through the air and the sense of renewal and hope that often comes with the arrival of spring..

Details:

Acrylic and mixed media painting on 1 3/8” thick canvas, framed in a thin raw maple float frame that is 2” deep. The painting is finished with a satin varnish for archival, UV protection.

This piece is titled and signed on the back and will arrive wired and ready to hang. The dimensions including the frame are 10 × 13”.

This piece goes perfectly with its companion piece, “Hanami 1.”

Paintings 16x20” and under ship free in the US and Canada. Shipping costs for larger paintings will be invoiced separately when the painting is ready to ship. International shipping is available.
